rent. paddle. explore.
A local paddle board rental in Elk Rapids, Michigan, started by someone who grew up on the water and wants to share it with you.
Paddle ER was founded by Ian McDonald, who grew up paddling with his parents on the lakes of Northern Michigan. Some of his best memories are from the water — the early mornings, the glassy afternoons, and the sunsets that turn the bay into gold.
Ian loves the Great Lakes and believes everyone should be able to enjoy the amazing water. Paddle boards make it easy to see the lakes up close, without a boat or a cabin — just you, a paddle, and the shoreline. That is what Paddle ER is all about.
We launch from Memorial Beach, right here in Elk Rapids. In Ian’s words, Elk Rapids is a special little town — “it’s one of a kind.”
With 8 premium boards ready to go, every rental includes a paddle, a life vest, and a quick tip or two to get you comfortable on the water. No experience needed.
Crystal-clear water, big skies, and the quiet beauty of Northern Michigan.
Our launch point in the heart of Elk Rapids.
Stable boards, friendly setup, and calm water for beginners to pros.
Rent from 1 hour up to a full day. Open 9 AM – 9 PM for your schedule.
